this is fucking mental magic witchcraft out of this world. it has an alex g sense/feeling, like dean blunt but more upbeat (?) what dreams & childhood would sound like in a song. probably what having a cat purring next to you feels like or falling out of a coconut tree. iâd recommend listening to their song âEfâ first so you can get the vision and then their latest album release

lush, nectar-like pop that reminds me of something oldâŚlike a beautiful kingdom lost in the mist and hidden behind the trees. a hazy romance sort of reminiscent of impressionist paintings. electric and archaic at the same time. iâd recommend any release but my personal fave is their album âimagesâ. i especially love the tracks âexquisite tensionâ (the song sounds just like the title, thatâs the best way to describe it), âshadow gardenâ and the title track.

an epic mass of sound collage. the liminality of music; of everyday sounds takes on this sort of primal urgency, in which faded memories of familiar commercials both Latin and American; of music through a broken pair of headphones; of bustling city traffic break through the psyche with the strength of a saturated kick drum. when the brutish intensity of it all slaps you sideways, you see the childlike fragility of the memory still remaining. the anonymous female voice (and it is a HELL of a voice. donât get it twisted, for all the nothingword vomit iâm spewing up this albumâs ass, it sounds seriously addictive and seriously beautiful) recontextualizing pop hits over city ambience, rainfall, crackling firewood. Drake lyrics become mournful, John Mayer cranks up the longing to Number Eleven. it is anti-colonial, reinterpreting these sounds; displacing them, to create its unfamiliarity. yet in the bleakness there is warmth. Elysia Crampton has no regard and no time for Traditional Western Music Production, and THE LIGHT THAT YOU GAVE ME TO SEE YOU acts as a brash, rugged interrogation of the âwhyâ and when The Light shines through, it takes on a new form: a tearful, solemn, busy question: âwhy?â coughed through the smoke of an exhaust pipe.

sometimes you just have to eat an entire cucumber. slice it, put it in a blender, twist it, shake it, add sesame seeds and some pickled onion. cucumber salad, cucumber soup, cucumber and marinara idc!! your hangover will thank the lords
