I start reading and find myself naturally getting sleepy enough to go back to sleep within the hour. It’s a great distraction from any racing thoughts or anxiety, but in my experience it only truly works when I absolutely avoid looking at my phone screen. 📱 ❌

I‘m an OCD baddie and I’m slowly weaning myself off of needing my phone to sleep. I have been reliant on podcasts/youtube for sleep for almost 10 years but it was really messing with my sleep quality and overall anxiety. I have been charging my devices outside my room, and then reading an easy book until I’m basically asleep. Then I try to sleep and if the OCD spirals win I‘ll get my phone and play a boring podcast I’ve heard before. It’s tough but it’s sort of working for me. Most nights I don’t end up needing my phone.

The phone is my biggest enemy.. and time. But if I can push thru the initial discomfort of doing any activity not related to my phone.. I think the edge subsides and time slows down. I experience That most often when I try to get back into reading. all I can offer is to cast ur phone aside if u haven’t already, even if it’s just for an hour or two in ur room while u try Out ur hobbies elsewhere. best of luck <3

I started today by fighting the urge to look at my phone before I go to sleep.. I feel my heart aching for my phone but I’ll read some pages of a book i started a year ago and haven’t finished instead.

my predictions and manifestations, based entirely on vibes. out: — American work ethic — learning French — situationships — low fat versions of foods — slur discourse in: — siesta — herbed yogurt — working hardest in the morning and leaving the evening for leisure — writing postcards to your long-distance friends, exclusively in cursive (if you weren’t taught to write in cursive, the time to learn will be now) — big boobs (cultural Catholicism will prevail again baby)
