What is your favorite movie that everyone overlooks or doesn't know? Mine is definitely Snowpierce (2013) by Bong Joog-ho. The idea that people get stuck on a train and are helplessly oppressed by their luckier fellow passengers. I like the atmosphere of the film and the performances by everyone, but especially Chris Evans, who showed he can be something other than Captain America. The progression from dark and dirty tail to interesting and perfect front of the train, the culture of the train, the revolution and the amazing action sequences. I could talk about this movie all day. I feel like the fact that a lot of people are just glossing over this makes me like the film even more. I'm curious what your hidden gems are :P

There's tons of movies that I think are a must-see (Tampopo, Roman Holiday, Moonlight, Amelie etc.) and trying to recommend any made me realise how much I love watching films... but I'd start with this one. It's about Living, with a capital T, and it's got plot, beautiful scenery etc. I also think it's a straightforward way to see what films do versus documentaries or other visual media. I first saw it as a bored volunteer at a film festival, killing time between two other movies I really wanted to see instead hahaha go in with zero expectations.

Underrated film about love in the end times. Beautifully shot. Somehow manages to be wildly goofy while also being quite devastating. Suspenseful and charming with hints of slight meta-commentary, this is worth a watch for so many reasons if I were to list them I would write an essay. I won't say any more because I feel to best experience this movie, you should go in with minimal context as I did but if this recommendation piqued your interest at all, I would say give it a shot.

guillermo del toro's story telling in this is amazing. it's a perfect mix of fantasy and horror, all while being set in the reality of war. its just an iconic movie that i think everyone should watch at least once in their lives. honorable mention: - aftersun: an a24 banger that i feel like people haven't watched yet. its the definition of a slow burn. made me feel too many emotions that i've neverrrr experienced after watching other movies

I think if there was some type of "go back" button that puts you back where you were before you clicked would be neat
