Tide pools are meant for respectful exploration and tidal puddles are for lounging. There's no experience that could make me feel more grateful to be alive. The diversity of life in a tide pool is incredible - you could spend all day exploring its depths and only scratch the surface.

Pretty sick, went with a friend and it was very funny. $14 Movie Theater IPAs were hitting in a fantastic way. Then we went to see the second half of the Knicks game in some dive in the Village. It was a great time, stumbled on the escalator in front of strangers. 10/10

I have another indie theater that I prefer because it’s cozier, has better vibes, is much closer to me, and everybody who works there is genuinely passionate about film. It’s not really anything special visually but it’s a beautiful institution and it’s so fun to be there ❤️ But this one is an old art deco theatre designed by architect John Eberson (he designed Loew’s Paradise in the Bronx and the Paradise Theatre in Chicago)! It’s pretty run down/poorly managed and staffed but it’s a gorgeous building and definitely worth visiting. Not my photos but included for illustrative purposes!!

Started this research project after reading about Georgina Weldon. She’s notorious for having a litigation addiction but I’m obsessed with the time Gounod asked for his sheet music back after their divorce and she sent it with her name written across every page. When he attempted to have her committed, she escaped and tried to press charges against him, even though married women couldn't initiate civil suits. When that failed, she shared her story with the papers to get him to sue her for libel. After the Married Woman's Property Act passed, she was simultaneously involved in seventeen legal cases. Highly recommend researching Kiki De Montparnasse, Dora Maar, Jeanne Duval, Camille Claudel, Aicha Goblet and Lizzie Siddal.

I forget how exhilarating it feels when a new release instantly becomes an all-time favorite. It's something I secretly hope for with every first listen. This album hits like a hot bath and captures the essence of a throbbing bodiless anatomical heart with wings.

It’s 1996 and she’s been asked to perform “This Christmas” at the National Tree Lighting. First, they send her on stage during her introduction. Then, her background singers are nowhere to be found. Then, the cue card has the wrong words. She’s amazing.
