Rec'd on 👔 what does your outfit today say about who you are as a person?
Ideally, nothing
a buddy of mine oft wears all back or all white depending on the season because he wants people to rely on his personality. I personally can’t do that but I can say I own very few items of clothing with brands or patterns on them now. Solids almost across the board

ur buddy’s theory is so interesting bc i would look at someone like that and definitely assume they’re having a specific aesthetic they’re trying to maintain, trying to look polished or put together etc .. i really feel like u can assume based on any outfit

Something black or something stuffy looking
black boots/sneakers that I don’t mind getting scuffed up like timbs/goretex converse when it’s cold out, or adidas superstars, black straight leg or slim jeans, black t shirt/flowy button up. This is usual club fare for me
If I’m at a restaurant I always wear a white or preppy blue button up, dark jeans or slim chinos + brown boot or loafer
I dress to blend and go with something pedestrian rather than statement pieces I guess but this is kind of my personal style, I don’t say much with going out outfits
Side note I got heavy into personal style and fashion in high school and was severely online but sidelined for millennial gen fashion trends, I think this is why I’m aggressively anti anti fit and need a slim pant

they're just pretty bog standard clothes man. Sometimes It's hard to find default clothes. These ones are as default as it gets in my book, while still fitting well and looking decent. I like wearing that default stuff and then styling it up, cause being generic makes me feel more normal than wearing prominent brands

i don’t have a personal style
everyone these days seems to have an aesthetic or a cohesive wardrobe or some kind of “-core” which is all so cool. i’m just a jeans and t-shirt guy, and sometimes a cool jacket :)

Wait in the line. Wait in the fucking line, talk to the cashier and make a joke. Hone your small talk. if we stop using the express checkouts they will shut em down. They’ll give the cashiers more hours, more demand and more money. it’ll result in them having more power. Talking shit about AI is easy but now it’s time to choose the people over the robots in person. In real life.

I think a lot of kids grow up with largely friends of their same gender. That’s the problem. Heteronormativity and seperating the genders in every aspect of life. sports, activities, friend groups. We condition men (and women!) to begin othering the opposite sex from birth. When in doubt, ungender it.
