accepting that my brain relies on my computer

my brain has developed in such a way that i do not retain information and instead focus on remembering techniques and procedures and knowing how to store and search efficiently for the information i use. i sell this to people as arguing i have an advanced mind. i dont do mental math. i dont know when meetings are. i dont know when my last period was. i can find out though
alternative theory: i am stupid

I’m the same way :’) also this is like a major ethical concern of AI that it’ll reduce human cognitive abilities as people become increasingly reliant on artificial intelligence… I’m actually not that against AI which is controversial of me perhaps but that’s one of the most darksided aspects to me

taterhole totally.... general research skills and low-level white collar work will soon near obsoletion while critical thinking and investigative skill is more important than ever to have valuable skills in the marketplace. i fear we will not see this pattern emerge at the level necessary to support the current economic structure of society... interesting times ahead

sola YES word on the street in my field is that these higher-level thinking abilities will be more in demand than ever because they’re necessary for AI to function properly but you’re so right it’s kind of scary because the state of the education system and brain rot…

PEOPLE NOT TELLING ME STUFF I DON'T WANNA KNOW

I get sad every time I lose a precious neural connection to the absolute most useless information!! So I love when people keep useless stuff to themselves, or keep me out of the loop when discussing things they know idgaf about. I don't get fomo, or rather, I get fomo knowing that certain brain connections that could have been used for other things are being wasted on absolute junk I'm retaining over the years 😭

My new but old favourite generaritive intelligence, my brain

You know whats funny, I can think of a promt and give it a few seconds. Than there it is an answer, often lenghty and with uneccessary fluff, that could totally be true but also has just as high of a chance of being nonsense. All generated by intelligence, my brain. I and others should use it more often. And so what if you don't know or don't understand or don't get it perfect, neither does AI and do you really have to anyway?
