i think it's okay to talk about stuff you're working on, but there is something to be said about moving in relative silence, especially when you're just starting out. personally, i dont like talking about anything until i have some momentum built up, and then i might give people general updates.
there's also a difference between discussing things with a confidant or advisor and talking about it on social media. having one or two people you can run ideas/hopes/dreams/updates by is necessary for your sanity and progress. people who yap about stuff on twitter rarely have the goods imo.
