listen- i'll admit it. i was a hater when it came out
but jennie and jmillez2 have been raving about it so i went back to see for myself and it's great!
i didn't see the vision back then. i was too blinded by melodrama to see the solar power. i'm sorry!

i so enjoyed this whole record. i feel like this got buried in its pandemic release stuff but it made heavy times feel a little light and fun and introspective with some whimsy

i genuinely love solar power even when it first came out TT maybe because it was scorching hot near the equator and listening to the later songs felt like petrichor during a tropical rain shower ~

I also revisited this recently and it truly is fantastic—its easier now for me to see what she means by the album being gold ✨ I also love how Lorde’s albums are front to back experiences and I never want to skip through it - just listening to it beginning to end is such a complete and wonderful experience!

Sitting legs crossed on the train, suggesting that you revisit Lorde's third studio album. I do not find myself in total stan alignment with a particular pop diva, but i have always felt drawn to Lorde. Her first two albums were devastating and functioned as backdrops to late highschool / early college coming of age but, like many, I felt her third album flopped- too many ballads, not enough percussion, fatigue around Jack Antonoff. So imagine last week when my hometown bestie / prom date Amber told me that shes been painting again and her creative sauce is weed and Lorde's discography. Three revisits later and Amber is so correct, the Solar Power album played in full will deliver you to artistic flow state. It is slower, lower key, and there is much less blowing shit up with homemade dynamite but miss girl did not miss, she is simply growing up.

Ts so beautiful, just oozing with that 2016 production and catchy hooks. Signs of jealousy, nowadays, the cliche and welcome to the rodeo are all standout hits!!!

Chromatica is still bad. But I’m giving Maggie Rogers another shot with her 2019 debut “Heard It In A Past Life.” Her version of Dance Pop is underrated and I’m sorry for my child mind.

tomorrow PI.FYI launches to the public
this project is the result of thousands of hours spent coding everything from scratch after I got laid off six months ago
no thiel-bucks or weirdo outsider money, just a pure desire to make something fun and true to Perfectly Imperfect’s day one goal of helping people find new things from real human beings, not algorithms or AI
a pure labor of love that I’ve been quietly plotting for two years and it’s completely self-funded from my (rapidly) dwindling savings account
so thank you for coming along for this weird ride 🫶 let's see where it goes
