William Basinski's Disintegration Loops marked an important stepping stone in the experimental music scenes history.
Recorded on tape in the 1980's the artist found that as he recorded the loops began to decay. After revisiting and digitizing its recording in 2001 days later he watched the 9/11 attacks from his apartment where he recorded footage with a camera from his roof with the decaying loops playing in the background
