Far out. I just watched this movie (so late on the bandwagon) and can fully understand why it was awarded so much praise. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time and never saw what was coming next. Great commentary on classism and the perpetual cycle of poverty, the imagery was so powerful and shocking. Its one of those movies where you just feel terrible for everyone involved. Im excited to read some breakdowns and properly analyse the messages it conveys. 10/10 great film; quite long but so engaging you wont notice.

If youโ€™re from brooklyn or new york city or just moved here, i know, this is cliche. But i! Donโ€™t! Care! The truffle popcorn is addicting, even if I'm farting for the rest of the movie, itโ€™s worth it. Plus they have cute little trailers to gab about with your date or friend, but i also go alone because nobody tried to have small talk with you at the movies and you can just disassociate peacefully in blissful high-power air conditioning on a hot nyc summer day. They have guest curators on a monthly basis and do fun screenings of old flicks. Highly recommend it. Nitehawk > Alamo.

Again, I'm using this category as an umbrella so I can list my favorite movies that I think by watching will make everyone's life better or at least distract you from whatever bullshit is going on in your own life for a moment, and put a smile on your face. Maybe you'll even relate to what the characters in the films are going through and you'll feel a little bit less alone and it will change your life forever. These are my favorite movies that I watch over and over again: An Unmarried Woman, Swingers, Annie Hall, Broken English, Girlfriends. Last Days of Disco, and Hannah and Her Sisters.ย And one of my favorite theaters to watch movies in in New York City is Metrograph. A sanctuary. A safe haven. The programming is extraordinary. And they have a wonderful restaurant upstairs called The Commissary. Run don't walk.

by Virginia Woolf My local library holds a classics interpretation group; i havent attended yet but this months classic is a passage by Virginia Woolf called Kew Gardens. I gave it a squiz before i put myself to bed tonight and i really enjoyed it. ๐Ÿ““ Its a beautiful passage that is set on a hot spring day in a garden where the narrator explores the thoughts of the men and women whom lay on the grass in Kew Gardens. ๐ŸŒฒ๐Ÿชต๐Ÿชท๐ŸŒท There is a lovely snail she refers back to a couple times throughout and i just love that dude and all he accomplishes ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿ‚. Beautiful imagery and a lovely little midday ramble from Woolf ๐Ÿค https://www.gutenberg.org/files/29220/29220-h/29220-h.htm#KEW_GARDENS

Last night on a whim i bought a 20 dollar second hand fire put off facebook market place. I invited some friends around and gathered my housemates and we all had such a lovely night toasting marshmellows and sharing stories by the fire. Its winter here in aus and the warm fire was such a lovely treat against the brisk night atmosphere. You can find fire pits super cheap second hand, and theyre a great way to get your buddies together and enjoy eachothers company. x ๐Ÿ›๐Ÿž
