Iām trans soā¦thereās that (I hate my birth name), and when i first came out I didnāt have a name I wanted yet so my friends started calling me a nickname based on a joke and Iāve been called it by most people ever since but I really donāt like it and donāt think it fits me at all āØJohnāØ is such a middle aged man name but I feel like people have been calling me it for too long for me to change it again. never liked my name growing up because most of elementary school was spent in florida. it was a huge culture shock coming from the north then being one of like two or three kids of color in my class at any given time. i wanted a stereotypical āwhite girl nameā with a middle name like marie or rose. spent a lot of middle school going by daisy.
i also am greatly tired of the ādeja vuā jokes.
my mom got my name from tyra bankās character in āhigher learningā/a tony! toni! tonĆ©! song. i guess thatās cool. she just spelled it very phonetically, which didnt help peopleās mispronunciation of my easy name but (to me) looks very dumbed down on paper (day-JAH) and then people pronounce the j really hard idk.
most of my friends call me day āļø i like that at least. i wouldn't have minded the name raven, and i think my momās other name contender was tia (like sister sister) but that would have kind of rhymed with my last name so im good on that.

I spelt my name differently for a whole year of school because someone else had the same name as me
