I know I’m repeating myself, but I’m finishing another watch of this perfect beautiful sci-fi show and jessuuussss christ! How can it go from a silly and ridiculous choreograph shootout with Jonah Hill doing a ridiculous fake European accent in a silly blonde wig to me SOBBING MY ACTUAL EYES OUT at the pure sublime sadness of grief and acceptance. For fans of The OA, Paprika, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Inception, and retro futurism.

absolutely fantastic watch. is this the inspo to Inception, a movie I do not like? I can't remember. anyway, i recommend watching with a group. it will throw you through a loop, sober or not!! some serious movie magic at work here and only 90 mins!

I finally watching Perfect Blue after being recommended it for years whenever I talked about fandom / obsession / the internet, which is a lot — it did not disappoint! Truly horrific and brilliant and unique.
I didn’t read too much about it beforehand, and I recommend going in the same way, and coming out just as confused. I love finishing a film and immediately searching for articles and blogs and reviews.
(The exception to this would be if you need to check trigger warnings… I would do that(!) for sure.)

I am by no means traditionally religious, but I fully understand how being in the presence of beautiful stained glass can feel like being with god. ALWAYS stop off at a church on the way if you think it might have good stained glass. The bluebells in the bottom right corner of this made me loose my breath for a moment.
