just trust me on this one, this book slaps. short story collection by octogenarian debut author who used to be a psychologist and has keen understanding of human nature. completely flips society’s expectations of kindly sexless elderly women and presents a collection of stories of old women who are still very much horny, difficult, complicated, cynical, etc. plus the cover is cool af.

It’s brilliant! An inter generational tale set in Sicily about tormented women, class, wealth, obsession first published in 1948. (I just finished Three Summers which was a great entree).

Auto-fiction in the au courant/Rachel Cusk bent about a female writer in her 50s. Beautifully written and just brimming with wit. I don’t have her gifts so I can’t begin to do it justice, but just read it. Didn’t actually realize this was the third in a trilogy (a repeat mistake for this guy). Felt even more atmospheric not having the context of the first two.
