I just love what it evokes— it talks about days being unpredictable and that if you let go of all the useless expectations life isn’t as tough as it may seem. That what seems impossible can be achieved if you really think about it and commit to it. To embrace the feeling of new because no one can dictate how you should feel about how life goes or works.

This track is really nice. Sure it’s about a guy driving around freeways chatting up some prostitutes. I was surprised that this was almost not on candy-o also… it’s so catchy.
this actually reminds me of steely dan thematically- some aging no longer joe cool trying to talk himself up to just about anyone who’ll listen, keeping the dooming and looming at bay by chattering away, those scary feelings inadequacy at bay with his fast car, fast ladies, and a good book.

this year was filled with a lot of making it up as i went along and reminding myself that i do, in fact, have plenty of time. i was figuring out where, who, or what felt right and what to do and how to do it etc, etc, and this song was just a calming anthem to return to. i also have fond memories of listening to it (maybe a little too much) during the summer, and i really miss those sweaty firefly filled nights. this was one of the first summers i’ve ever missed; i usually despise the heat. so, i feel like that stands for something.
