been trying out this whole regular sleep schedule thing (derogatory) and have developed a biological clock that wakes me up around the same time—meaning I haven’t heard my stupid alarm in weeks. Instead I’ve been rousted by birds yapping away and end up staring out the window for a few minutes before I actually get up. It’s great

siggi761 as a born and bred night owl I have the occasional late night, but what has truly made the difference is blessing the bedroom as a no phone zone and treating it like a sanctuary. When I start the bedtime wind-down (pour some water, wash face, or just splash some water on my face, not a long process), I leave the phone in another room. then I just open a book that I’m looking forward to reading and pass out Perfect Days style. It’s really helped

It’s been helpful for me to sleep 10-6 every night. I also have a light that supposedly simulates the light of sunrise so I don’t wake up in a dark room. Avoiding snoozing can be difficult! I use iPhone shortcuts to wake up to a different album each day of the week. I notice time passing as the songs change. And have a second alarm to wake me up 20 minutes later in case I doze. Getting out of bed and moving, stretching, walking around for a few minutes, wakes me up, too. I am not perfect at getting up, but these things do help!

For the first time in a while I’ve gotten up when I‘ve hoped to. No looking at my phone. Just up and at em.

a study issued last month found that dancing is the most effective way of treating and mitigating depression. Walking, therapy, and yoga also outpaced SSRIs. and if you're saying 'oh this was probably funded by Big Dance', there's no evidence of that and if you're saying 'that's just what a Big Dance shill would say', well honey you're right
