most of mine fall under the golden rule, specifically: 1. always ask what kind of support a friend needs when sharing their blight, unwarranted advice can be condescending. 2. if you hold the door for me, the spot in front of me in line is yours. (this rule goes for all acts of kindness) 3. if i have it and you don’t and i can get it or make it again, it’s yours. 4. similarly, if i can make it with things i have at home, i’m not buying it. 5. always top off a friends glass before my own.

Be generous with yourself and others. ❣️ Leave shared spaces better than you found them. ❣️ Give yourself a small gift. An iced coffee, a massage, a nap. Whatever you would enjoy right now! ❣️ Keep cash in your pockets in places where you may encounter unhoused neighbors. ❣️ Share your happiness. ❣️ Listen deeply to someone and ask them follow up questions. ❣️ Be generous in spirit, approaching people with love, vulnerability, and good will. Assume the best of people rather than the worst.

It doesn’t just apply to others, but also yourself. Be easy on yourself, be kind to yourself. Self love is always a good starting point.
