DEVASTATING FEELING

the end of a movie. the lights turn on. everyone is quiet in thought. people slowly stand and shuffle out of their seats. it was amazing and you will never experience that specific thrill again. i just watched a movie about ray charles, btw. phenomenal. 10/10 recommend.

threw this one on after i heard the news of steve albini’s passing, may he rest in peace what a stacked personnel list on here too: joanna newsom at the center (naturally), steve on recording/engineering, jim o’rourke production, van dyke parks string arrangements!!! just all over perfect FAV TRACKS: all of them, but only skin is particularly foundational for me

a very formative read for me in high school (shoutout to the MFA student who recommended this poem and the rest of parker’s work to me in a workshop). really taught me that a poem could be about anything and still have meaning! (linked above because i couldn’t fit it all in one screenshot)
