Another, less terrible, vice I've chosen is the city subway.
I get off at a random stop, usually somewhere in the proper city, and wander for hours on end, conversing, exploring. It's nice.
The rides always shorter than expected. But the windows above everything make me feel free.
It makes me feel less like a rat in a concrete cage and it's more than appreciated.
