Having a voice read paragraphs of text aloud helps me catch so many more mistakes than I would otherwise. It also makes the process of proofreading extremely dry text (academic papers, legal documents) a little more engaging/bearable.

I hurt my thumb a couple weeks ago and ever since then I've been relying on text to speech for my texting on my phone and MacBook. It's proving to be extremely useful, especially as someone who struggles with reading and writing. Don't believe me this paragraph was written with text to speech, still don't believe me go to patreon.com/slushynoobz see the footage of me doing this talking to my laptop and typing instantaneously, I could never type instantaneously by myself, but now I can. -Hamzah

One of my side gigs. It forces a perversely close reading of a text and I’m always gaining new insights on language and writing as well as fun little tidbits that I come across while fact-checking.

My preferred word processor. You can choose your font, size, B/I/U, and that's pretty much it - no distractions. Just you and a blank void so scary, it pulls the words right out of you!

These are those unplanned, worn-in trails that come into existence from consistent use over time. I like how they represent a record of the way humans and animals interact with their environment, with some being wide and well travelled while others are overgrown and don’t see that much use; each one has a story! I think they’re a cool example of the ways in which we unintentionally shape nature while it shapes us right back. So take that desire path and push back against infrastructure imposed upon you (if you want). I also just think Desire Path is a beautiful combination of words.
