finally on my work off days and I can get to teaching myself how to skate. the process is rigorous, laborious and very painful. I have yet to fully āstack itā per se, but that might also be me chickening out of any risky situations due to my helmet and pads not arriving yet. my legs feel wobbly and the rare British sunshine is beaming on me, but im glad I took my first step.
my technique is very horrible, but after about an hour of going up and down my street, I can semi-consistently get both feet on the board and scuttle forward, which feels like progress enough for a first day. next day will be getting my footwork spot on, which will help me avoid the stacking it part a little bit.
P.S. my road is about as smooth as my face after an acne breakout so im definitely making it harder for myself, but then again if I make it harder now itāll be easier later, right? right?
