occasionally going tourist mode in your own city
this is something i should do much more of. every time i visit another city i scope out the best spots, hit all the sights, and pack in my days with fresh experiences.
once u live somewhere for a while u just kinda stop being excited and fall into a routine. there are still so many things i haven’t seen in nyc, and probably will never see, because 90% of my time is spent in my own neighborhood.

Nothing beats a summer outing to Governor’s Island here in nyc, it’s a little different every year. Great people watching, fun to learn about the history and watch it develop

tyler there’s a skating rink, fire pits and food trucks, sled rentals, and ice sculpture show!! plus all the art and biking and play opportunities that are there in summer (they have the longest slide in nyc)

I did that in Quebec city last week, at night! this historical city is so beautiful and well lighted, my friend and i felt like we were on a movie set. hard to believe a lot of my memories take place in this setting.

so true! I keep google Maps lists of places I want to see in my city (Berlin). Picking out a spot and a place to eat in a neighborhood I haven’t been to is always so much fun. pair that with a few albums you wanted to listen to and you have a recipe for a wonderful me-time day, I feel like

travelling makes me wanna explore my city 6️⃣
i just spent a week in vancouver and my bff was showing me around the cool spots and it made me realize i don’t do anything in toronto… i am now determined to explore and find cool spots and do fun things.
biggest problem here is everything is a restaurant and there aren’t any pretty mountains and the ocean. i don’t wanna go out to eat i just wanna wander and window shop cool things and sit in a park with pretty trees
