When they're less than 10 words and still take up an entire page. Wasteful! It also is tougher to feel anything deeper or have a connection to the author when it's just Instagram poetry

sometimes it's okay to be do things for poetic reasons in a kind of cringe way. actions speak louder than words, yes, but they can also be just as layered, discrete, abstract, etc.
Which like other skills, must be practiced. There's reasons certain texts are included in curriculums. Just because you read something, doesn't mean you agree with it. In fact, engaging with the content gives you insight and allows you to form your own opinion. How do you define what your moral guidelines are if you never breach what is comfortable and comforting to you?
