I was able to complete my modified version of 75 Hard at the beginning of this year. It boiled down to no alcohol, one hour of exercise everyday and logging all the food I ate. After a month I didn’t have any urges for alcohol and felt so clear. But all of the exercise made my body ache but I refused to give up. I only did temporarily bc I got Covid and then sick again (lol). I let myself pause for those events without having to start over. It was rough, not going to lie and I had to really work through the pain. There’s a limit to that of course, but sometimes it can be good to see what your limits are. And now that I’m done with it I’m keeping the good habits without being so hardcore. Sorry for the yapping but it was probably the most important thing I did this year and I hope you can keep yours going!

And it was hard. Unbelievably so. And it burnt me out. It was a good experience, but I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

Had a breakup at the end of 2021 that dealing with, was pretty stressed out about it and started going to a powerlifting gym (shoutout Rx S&C) that had a strength and conditioning class with some weightlifting, kettlebells, etc. Got me tired as a dog, cleared my head and after a bit, the results helped my self esteem. I was also playing a lot of ultimate frisbee, and the amount of aerobic exercise made it easier to take up jogging. I moved to NY last summer and after I got here, it really helped me during the transition to join a crossfit gym and jog on my off days. Had some back problems, the weather got crappy and I got out off the habit of exercise and my mental health really suffered. Have recently started running again and I can see a marked difference in my mood and stress level.
