it was actually the first track from the album i ever listened to (it was playing on the radio). i got chills and immediately went to listen to the full album. an absolutely unbeatable closing track.
driving out into the sun let the ultraviolet cover me up went looking for a creation myth ended up with a pair of cracked lips windows down scream along to some america first rap country song a slaughterhouse an outlet mall slot machines fear of god windows down heater on big bolts of lightning hanging low over the coast everyone's convinced it’s a government drone or an alien spaceship either way we're not alone i’ll find a new place to be from a haunted house with a picket fence to float around and ghost my friends no i’m not afraid to disappear the billboard said "the end is near" i turned around there was nothing there yeah i guess the end is here
a bit too on the nose? it may be the second song on the album but it’s perfect for ending things on a hopeful/optimistic note before i run into the woods at the end of the movie.
succinctly captures the sinking feeling of hearing bad news and things taking a turn for the worse. despite the bleak nature of the lyrics, the song is incredibly mesmerizing and i can’t stop listening to it
so much kraftwerk. like, an ungodly amount of kraftwerk. i’m not mad about it tho. they’re the best to ever do it. the beatles for people who love going to the club.
