flowers for Algernon fundamentally changed me in the sixth grade. I think I have read it every year since i was like 11 and I sob every time. I blame this book (and diary of a young girl) for opening my eyes to mortality in ways that shook me the core in a beneficial way. Also all of the Pete the cat series speak to me on a spiritual level.

The Toa of Pooh by Benjamin Hoff - read at a formative time and always recenters me though I am not at all a toaist in any way The Boy, the Mole, the Fox, and the Horse by Charlie Mackesy - I was gifted this by a beloved for graduation and truly always return to it when I feel lower than nothing. The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry - little needs to be said, read this often to keep on living.

my friends and I have started saying “unclear” instead of “I don’t know” & it is unclear how this started but it is so nice to not immediately place blame on yourself for not being omniscient! Highly suggest trying this out
