Zoos are awesome: they are shaded, have snacks and offer moments of joy when seeing the animals.

There’s maybe something wrong about looking at animals in captivity but it’s very special to watch a brown bear swim in a pool on a friday afternoon

i went on a friend date to an aquarium recently and it was genuinely such fun and everything was so pretty! the ethics side of it makes me really sad though, especially the penguins that they had, they just stared at people through the window and i could’ve cried:(

fully convinced a serving of cobbler with ice cream is the perfect summer dessert, so here’s my favorite recipe for a really delish strawberry cobbler :)
INGREDIENTS: For the Sauce: 1/2 c white sugar 2 tbsp cornstarch 1/4 c lemon juice 3 c fresh strawberries, with the stems removed and cut into like 1/4 inch pieces 2 tbsp cold butter, diced into pieces For the Crumble Topping 1 c ap flour 1tbsp white sugar 1 1/2 tsp baking powder 1/2 tsp salt 3 tbsp cold butter, diced into pieces 1/2 c heavy cream
INSTRUCTIONS: Preheat your oven to 400 degrees and butter a 9 inch square pan. To make to sauce, combine the cornstarch, lemon juice, and the 1/2 cup of sugar in a saucepan. Cook this on medium heat until the mixture thickens. Remove from heat and gently fold your strawberries into the mixture and add to your greased pan. Dot this mixture with the 2 tbsp cold butter. To make the crumble, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Next, cut the 3 tbsp cold butter into this mixture until a crumble forms. Add the 1/2 cup of heavy cream to this mixture (it’s going to be a weird texture at first but just keep mixing!) and spoon evenly on top of the strawberries. Bake for 25 minutes until the top is golden brown and enjoy!
