I had never understood the power of cinema until I saw this film. The scene where Mahershala Ali’s character teaches Chiron how to float in the ocean made me bawl. After the film finished I RAN to the bathroom to simply howl and sob for a few minutes to release the tidal wave of emotion this film unleashed in me.

Holy Shit thats a FILM. I can’t explain how deeply I felt moved by it. It’s stunning. I’ve never seen anything like it.

an instant classic. i’ve probably watched this movie 5+ times and still could watch it again. elegantly shines a light on the topic of “what it means to be black” in this world and the beauty & pain comes with it. the cinematography is breathtaking. one of the prettiest films to exist, yet also so heartbreaking.

Ignoring Dannii Minogue, this show is joyous to behold! Lesbians, being lesbians…on my tv?! it’s …more likely than you think…

Because I want to think about sex (academically!). Because I want to meet new, intellectually stimulating people. Because I can! Because I should use my expertise to do something instead of just reading endlessly alone in my room. Because critical analysis is sexy and fun. Because I shouldn‘t assume that someone else will start one. Because it’s hot to be a person who creates and organises and hosts things. Because I don’t only want to read dry course literature. Because I want to be in charge! Because I like to learn. Because I like to teach.
