Yes I know Iām recommending the granddaddy of all podcasts but you donāt get to be a legend for no reason. Really fascinating and revealing story about the opioid crisis but told in a way thatās an absolute triumph of storytelling. Still remember where I was when I gasped as the full-circle moment. Ira and the gang still got it.

š„£it's a segment from an old episode of TAL that they just reposted in their feed. the whole episode is 20 short stories in an hour instead of their typical 3, and this one is made by Maine teenagers in juvie doing important investigative journalism about the pudding in their cafeteria. incredibly funny and charming.

š§I will never not recommend this singular podcast episode (recommended to me by a dear friend from high school), which is so funny, silly, and suspenseful: a man remembers all the words and melodies to a song he heard all the time on the radio in arizona when he was a kid, but there's absolutely zero trace of it online or in our collective memory (except for one obscure internet post in a guitar forum, from a user based out of Trinidad & Tobago). the situation is absurd and it's impossible not to laugh alongāā i've listened to this on family road trips, drives with friends, etc, probably 6 or 7 times over the past few years without getting sick of it. My first listen was while running the Central park loop and a stranger flagged me down to say we'd passed each other twice and she had to know how I could laugh and smile so much while running

Never before have I so noticeably been able to turn down my anxiety like turning the volume knob on a stereo. Doesnāt make you feel overall as āalteredā as weed but just calms the nervous system like a warm bath. I canāt really do weed anymore anyway so Iām very grateful to have found this stuff.
