sola I’ve never seen anything like it… I am not joking at all when I say that every boy in the class believed it to be a very stupid and shallow book and every girl found it beautiful and life changing. people were standing up and leaning over the table to yell at each other , I almost broke up with my then boyfriend because of it, it was wild

I don’t want to spoil it, but the romance author Jane Austen’s own love story doesn’t have a happy ending. This movie haunts me.

😃
My favourite movie of all time actually… melancholic, drama, period piece, feminist masterpiece. (and of course an age gap class breaking romance.. with Micheal Fassbender)

in 1960s britain, a man wins the lottery and uses the funds to prepare to kidnap a woman and keep her trapped in his cellar. a very interesting exploration of class and misogyny. the movie was great, too!
