so TRR usually measures the circumference at the hem, instead of the width. so their 15" is the equivalent of most brands' 7.5". my pants all happen to be around the same width at the waist, which is convenient, that's a good measurement to have handy. Thigh and rise measurements also matter a lot. A super short rise or tight thigh measurement might be uncomfortable, but a super loose thigh measurement might look dumpy as opposed to clean. Rise measurements are a little more complicated because there's a front rise and a back rise, and good pants have a curved waistband, and stuff. Know a tailor. Not a dry cleaner who is willing to chop your clothes--a tailor with as much talent as you can find. Do keep at least one pair of skinny jeans. I mean, I don't like them, but... one day, you'll want to try a skinny fit again. They might never go mainstream again, but they might be the cool vintage cut, or the thing you need for a mick jagger costume, or something like that.

material is the most important part for me I hate the paper thin jaded london bershka baggy pants I like a wider leg as I‘m pretty tall and it just looks better on me but I was looking at some Hedi runways and pulled some skinnier ones out the closet just this week, definetly wont go for skintight tho way too uncomfortable and my jeans have to swallow the shoes a bit, but heeldrag is only allowed on one pair I own waist is something I like to play around with, usually a bit higher waisted especially cause most jeans are really long but I like to show some skin sometimes and put them a bit lower and I love jeans that are a bit out there, like yellow, or with crazy stitching, right now I‘m looking for some pinkish/lavender ones

- long rise with crotch curve cut on bias so they sit nicely on hips with some breathing room below. prob about 14” - long zip fly - slightly big in waist, just enough to wear comfortably with or without belt & have room for fluctuating weight changes throughout day - pretty deep front pockets. coin pocket doesn’t matter. all front pockets fully riveted - deep-ish back pockets - WIDE cut especially in the thigh, should not be feeling fabric there anywhere near my skin - slightly longer length, enough to poddle on shoes some but not have crazy heelbite - outseam curved a bit especially around the hips to have some nice drape & shape - some taper with about a 10-10.5” leg opening - double roll 0.5” hem, nothing too thick but substantial enough to sit on shoes with some weight - yokes, centre seam, and inseams all properly flat felled, idc if it’s by single needle or by fell machine just don’t fuck around overlocking & staystitching - more rigid denim, 12-16oz, that will break in with time is preferred, but exceptions can be made for a special denim. our legacy made vast cuts in “forever blue” denim that was this really flowy chinese fabric treated to never fade, that was sick thank god i know how to make these (pictured) because if i didn’t i’d be pissed off constantly by almost all jeans. only off the rack ones i like for myself are fadepants or acne 2023, and i don’t like acne’s denim quality. our legacy is good for people who care less than me but want a good wide straight cut that’s comfy and wearable for anyone at all ages, the vast cut and third cut are what i’d look at there

they already run a bit baggy but you could even go a waist size up. then take them to your local tailor to get them taken in for that above the hip fit. a pair or two of good fitting jeans are worth the investment if you’ll wear them often

I feel like this place isn't about people but about recommendations, right? forget the influencer, forget the individual, just browse and talk about cool shit and whoever says something good, that's good. that's what I liked about reddit, back when I actually liked reddit. I haven't found many people I want to follow, and I'm not really looking.

for a while, when I wanted something expensive, I would think to myself, "oh, let me just look for a cheaper version of it." I end up settling for something that isn't good in any of the ways that made me want the expensive version. Throw that out. You can get fantastic pieces for cheap, you can thrift a wardrobe you love, but if you're trying to find a cheap copy of something expensive, it's not going to work.

I pulled together all the good advice I could on how to get a men's summer wardrobe together cheap. I hope it helps somebody.
