I want to buy a small house in the country that has a porch with a roof. Somewhere where it rains and there are birds that I can look at visiting the bird feeder and bird bath. I need really fast internet bc I plan to remain chronically online. I also want there to be a really good, affordable non-chain pizza place nearby. Going to order that pretty frequently or maybe I can buy one of those outdoor pizza ovens. It depends how much the house costs me but surely will be cheaper than current rent. Not sure if the pizza oven will save me money in the long run or not. I never made pizza dough at home before bc it seems like a lot of work and most grocery stores sell pizza dough that is decent. I will continue to work from home and read the internet

I’m happy renting my little place that lacks all those things, but a man can dream! Over the past year or so I’ve been able to get some nice furniture, and prints from my favorite photographers. And it’s almost always quiet here. And the rent is affordable. It’s quite great here, in fact!

small room, mostly empty

I work three jobs and am getting my BA part time. I have hobbies, friends, and an active social appetite. I’m also subject to the 24 hour day. Sometimes that doesn’t really feel doable. in the middle of winter, you can get an Airbnb in Burlington Vermont for $30 a night. it’s a small room, a bed, a window. Shared kitchen, both spare and kitschy (a notable achievement I feel). though I can’t afford to leave all that often, this is how I do it. I go for 5ish days, I sleep a lot, I eat well enough, I read and write a lot because I feel like I can really unload. it is so quiet, and if you wanted to go somewhere at night you could, but you’ll find you rarely want to. When I got off the train in Burlington it was snowing and the snow stuck to everything, even the asphalt and I just started laughing maniacally in an empty parking lot.
