Sort of a wine bar masquerading as a Book Store but they do have a interesting collection of books and magazines that you can look at. Its usually pretty well lit so that you can read and drink a glass of wine as I sometimes do. They have a good sound system and the music is generally low key but quality. There is wine and beer but also coffee and tea that they serve all day so if you or your date doesn't want to drink, there are other options available. The bar is nice to sit at but there is also a backyard that will be good to sit out at in the summer.

I sincerely love this place -- pretty surreal to see a full bar where almost every single person is reading a book. Not embarrassed to say that I've spent a couple Friday nights at this spot.

Molasses Books (Bushwick) - I always find something good here. They have a tiny little bar so you can get coffee, tea, beer or wine. Always a nice ambiance Honeymoon Coffee (Ridgewood) - their books are curated by Molasses so it’s a nice selection & the coffee/treats are good Topos Bookstore (Ridgewood) - great selection of books, though I find more at Molasses typically. They also have coffee/tea! Cute outdoor seating area Aeon Books (LES/Chinatown) - maybe my favorite bookstore. Lovely selection of old and new. They also have a little corner with records for sale (Found a cool Francis Bebey record there once) Dashwood Bookstore (NOHO I guess?) - owner is so sweet & the photo book selection is incredible

Not sterile whatsoever and has a nice outdoor space to read/work/exist as well as a minimal cafe area inside that feels comfy cozy 90s. On Sunset/Logan in Echo Park.

Just because I see a window to get across the street doesn’t mean you don’t have to look both ways. I’ve been on the other side of that though…

I met Erin (@RIOTGRRRL) and Jake (@SLOWDAZZLE) last year after I started using PI.FYI—we organized a meetup before a Jonathan Richman show and immediately clicked over our shared taste in music and similar sensibilities. We started hanging out a lot and had some great times together. I’ve also gotten to know many of their friends, who are all really cool. Erin and Jake started dating a couple of months after the three of us became friends, but our group chat still pops off. Their friendship has meant a lot to me, especially since moving to NYC in 2023, and I really appreciate having them in my life.
