Really raw midwest emo song that comes out of the gate swinging. The vocals might not be for everyone but I find that they really cut through things. Love the drum sound too. Also love that they were from Sandown NH, really small town somewhat near where I grew up in MA. Had a friend that lived in Sandown growing up but she went to my HS because her dad worked at the school.

Two things. All of my peers make music, but rarely do any of their songs make it into my listening catalog. Also, I hate emo. The Branching Out EP may have changed that? This EP takes the things about emo that turned me off and turns me on to them. Lyrics devoid of individualism, *riffs*, and fun vibes. This was made by a BAND who’s having fun and I’m having fun with them. It makes you want to go to a show again. The words are so stupid yet comforting, the musicianship indulgent but exciting, the affect emo with a 1/4 cup of hope. It’s self taught musicians cosplaying the Berklee School of Music School of Music but without the chord sheets or pretension. Track titles such as Vampire Vibes, Confessions of an Aries, and This Wasn’t On My Planner display a finger on the pulse ironic sincerity that actually works for once. It’s about heartbreak, being nervous, having a crush, and wanting to die. Perfect for my little brothers friend/ex pupil of mine from my time as counselor at a rock n’ roll music camp located in the basement of the church in my suburb who attended their EP release show in New York. I think this appeals to 16 year old life noobs, 20 something year old haters like myself, and even the chicks. I could listen to them whine all day.

there's a spotify link down there somewhere to their debut ep "3 songs". very fiery, brief, lofi EP that punches you in the face and vanished before you have the time to realize what happened.

20-year old Brooklyn based artist released this incredible EP with poignant and heart wrenching lyricism. Their poetry is raw and honest, and they use a similar vocal flip/yodel style to that of your offputting favs (caroline polachek, imogen heap)

Its a web app that people submit 1 song per week and then everyone gets to vote on the all the different songs but their own. After all the rounds have been completed, the person with the most votes wins! Its a fun way to share music with people and get competitive. Been using this app with other online communities and friends for a few months and have really been enjoying it. NOTE: I created a PI.FYI League where the first submission is this friday. I limited it to 25 people for now not sure if I should open that up to more but it would be pretty overwhelming to have more than 25 songs to listen and vote on. The join link is attached to this rec!
