Public broadcast show featuring archaeologists and geophysicists (nerds, lovingly) who have three days do exploratory digs at sites around the UK. They could find an ancient Saxon burial, but usually it’s just a lot of talk about digging trenches and finding what may have once been a wall or something lol. Endlessly soothing and there’s hundreds of episodes on YouTube, I dream in time team at this point!! The digs also actually benefited real research teams. They could pick up where the time team left off once a site had been confirmed to be significant (without having to shoulder the cost of the exploratory digs)

A British reality show about a gang of hippie archeologists that ran on BBC channel 4 for 20 seasons from 1994 to 2014. In each episode the team is given access to a historical site in Great Britain for 3 days in which they scan the area using “geo fizz” and work on digs which uncover remains and artifacts. Each episode ends with the team having a pint in the local pub. I watch this when I’m tired.

Easily one of my top shows of all time, 3 seasons of gold - absolutely hilarious. A real BBC comedy but not dry and deadpan like the office but beautiful and reflective.

It's worth finding a DVD of this as it's hard to find all in one place. I linked the first full episode above, and it's a doozy. Watch it with your friends. "Look Around You" offers a combination of satire and homage to British educational programs of the 1970s and 1980s. A different scientific topic is tackled in each episode, including calcium, water, germs and iron, and running gags continue from week to week, as the series goes on.

Lately the only things I feel compelled to draw for tattoo practice are horses (and greyhounds—the horse of dogs)

They really managed to capture a look of abject horror or disgust in each of their little faces
