shomimoor yall need to get more than two players (Luka, Kai) who are playoff quality starters on a serious team. everyone else is cool in the RS but against real teams trying their hardest daniel gafford/pj washington/derrick jones jr likely ain’t getting it done. with luka anything is possible though

shegoestoanotherschool u are very right but maybe with the power of friendship, trade deadline luck and Luka magic they can beat the nuggets and beat whatever eastern team in the finals

shomimoor i really hope DAL plays OKC in the WCSF that is my dream matchup for these playoffs. would be one hell of a series. or DAL gets rolled. i have no idea but that's why i really wanna see it

shomimoor problem is DAL offense is literally just Luka or Kyrie isolation/switch weakest defender on, Luka post up, or high pnr. doesn't make the defense move. OKC while Shai is ft merchant they drive and kick the defense into rotation until they get a good shot on every possession. also DAL defensive players a little questionable against offenses that put you in rotation, OKC big or stout at every position

shomimoor damn i guess they was really like that. congrats - excited to see what they look like against BOS defense. BOS is the one team that can probably switch 1-5 against DAL or 1-4 and keep Porzingis in drop and keep him in the paint with preswitching. the only kinds of playoff defenses that have succeeded against Luka were switching (2022 GSW, 2021 LAC)
in any case DAL/BOS is an even series that'll be fun to watch. will be happy for you if y'all win

shegoestoanotherschool hopefully the mavs can close it out tn for some extra rest. need lively back and decently healthy by game 1 of the nba finals he is the third most impactful player for the mavs imo having kleber back adds some offense but he is not that good of a defender or anything and i do not want to see meaningful Dwight Powell minutes. honestly think the Celtics could beat them but still saying mavs in 6 🙏🙏

BOS just hasn’t been tested like DAL will test them but BOS definitely has more balanced talent across their best lineups

shegoestoanotherschool key factor gonna be shooting Dallas is gonna eat in the paint feel like Boston will have to live or die by the three at times and they have more consistent shooters than the Mac
shomimoor if Porzingis is playing the equation changes - idk if the lob will be quite as open with BOS defensive versatility as well being able to play 5 out how they can

shegoestoanotherschool u cooked so far unfortunately but hopefully some adjustments and kyrie shooting better will make it an even series. mavs lost game one of both the clippers and the thunder series convincingly i don’t think they are done at all (plus assuming they stop switching on porzingis he not gonna shoot like that every game). i still stand on mavs in 6 but as its looking rn they are completely outmatched
shomimoor yeah i think Luka needs to run more double drag to try and get more guys involved in screening actions bc he's probably the best pick & roll guard ever, but BOS is going to force him into iso situations by switching 1-4 and preswitching Porzingis off the screener and make him beat single coverage every time. BOS just got a lot of length if DAL has a shot it's off tough buckets by Luka & Kai. problem is Mazzulla will literally never overreact unless he's convinced what BOS is doing won't work, he's big on expected shot value and will stand on his principles there

shegoestoanotherschool putting tatum and brown on gafford and derrick jones jr took away the free lobs too. i think the 1 assist from Luka is an overreaction too hes got at least 6-7 if open shots are made. and putting jrue holiday on Luka later in the game def helped the Celtics out too

shegoestoanotherschool yeah it’s Luka vs the Celtics rn. other starters played well offensively and defensively for the most part… EXCEPT KYRIE…missed free throws and turnovers also killed them. obv Tatum won’t shoot terrible the rest of this series but if kyrie shows up at home they can win at least one game or tie the series. but obv Celtics are the better team and it shows

shomimoor honestly i think it’s more that Kyrie has nothing for Jrue than anything else, maybe the only 2 better small guards are Curry, arguably Brunson, and arguably Lillard and Jrue just is too strong & can stay with him off the dribble so he has to be an insane shot maker to get much off

shomimoor also the problem is DAL role players aren’t like real shooters. so many times they catch the ball in a slightly less than perfect situation and they either take a rhythm dribble + closeout comes or they try to drive and make a decision that doesn’t create any advantage. real shooters it doesn’t matter they catch it it’s going up. 27 and 26 3 point attempts for DAL against a team like BOS shooting 40 3’s a game just isn’t going to get it done
shomimoor maybe DAL can get back into it with some BOS CTE offense and shotmaking, especially if Porzingis isn’t out there to protect the rim or isn’t operating at the capacity he did in games 1/2 defensively with that calf injury he has. but it doesn’t look good, BOS is just so complete and DAL might have like 6 real genuinely good players on the entire team. BOS has like 9 even if Hauser, Kornet, and Pritchard aren’t good enough defensively for real playoff level shit I take any of them before Hardy, Hardaway, Kleber (in his injured state), Green, and Exum
