There’s just something about that scratches an itch I can’t rightly describe. Learning languages feels good and opens so many doors, it activates a part of my brain that I don’t think I’ve used enough.
This year I’m trying to get back on the habit of learning Mandarin (which I studied for eight years, yet still feel woefully inadequate speaking), Yiddish (which I spent one year learning, but have since lapsed), and/or French (which I’ve never tried to learn, but there’s a first for everything!)
