Regardless of where I am (even on holiday) I love to have my coffee outside to start my day. This is always stayed consistent no matter the season or location. At the moment, i enjoy a morning coffee on my balcony with my precious baby angel cats (yes im a cat mum), before getting ready for the day. Once I‘m ready, I usually end up going for a little walk to my local cafe for an iced oat latte. When I was living in Brighton, I would go for a daily walk to my local cafe to order an oat flat white and have sleepy chats with locals (and stroke cute dogs). I’d go sit on a bench by the local church for an hour, before starting my day.

been forcing myself to start my day (when possible) with dedicated coffee and cat time. i've had trouble "shutting off" transitioning from a food service job w a rigid schedule to a remote work w longer projects, periods of waiting for feedback before making changes, time zone differences etc. and this gives me some semblance of structure. also fantaja is 900 years old and needs her ancient ears massaged

I wake up, roll over and wake my dog up if he isn’t already awake. I think it is so supremely cute and makes me feel loved how excited he gets when I say, “Good morning!” He is also really patient and if he notices I’m awake, but I haven’t said anything to him yet, he will stay where he was laying and wait oh so eagerly for me to greet him before he crawls up to cuddle. After I get some time to pet him, I get out of bed to pee and brush my teeth. I feed Oz dog, and get him ready to go get coffee. We walk to the coffee shop about 10 minutes away. The baristas all know him and are obsessed with him, so he gets little treats. Sometimes they even give him bacon or sausage. When it is too cold to make the long walk, we go to the place basically eighth across the street from my apartment. They give out pup cups, but their coffee isn’t as good. Better for Oz, not so much for me. On our way back, I usually check the little free library. When I get home and my coffee is about half finished, I’ll smoke a bit and set out to start whatever project I’ve got to work on that day be it dishes, or laundry, or writing, or making jewelry. Something about mixing caffeine and thc gets me in the right mindset to really get shit done. Pictured below is the man in question.

I love to start my day quietly, I'm absolutely not a morning person haha so just making my coffee and sipping it while reading or basking in the morning sun, in silence, really helps me ground myself and come to my senses. (But I also like to put on a record if I woke up on the right side of the bed :))

Sunburn by Chloe Michelle Howarth is a beautiful book set in the 90s in Ireland. it’s a tender portrayal of first love, growing up and living in a small town. I wanted more!! I was so sad when it ended :( Anyone who has read it have any similar recs?
