Every bit of any mundane activity deserves to be romanticised also. Being on a train, car, plane or bike? Play some cinematic scores to feel like you‘re on an epic journey. Writing in your journal? Play some piano instrumentals to invoke more emotion in your words. Applying your skincare and getting ready for bed? Put a candle on and play classics like Louis Armstrong or Nat King Cole, any of the sort. Appreciate your natural features in the mirror and feel comfort in your beauty. Trying to decide your outfit for the day? Play some of The Cure, The La’s, Two Door Cinema Club to feel like its the montage in a film where you’re the main character. You can quite honestly romanticise so many aspects of your day and you feel all the better for it ~ :)

I feel like paying more attention to the tiny mundane things in life that bring you some joy can make a big difference in reining in some of the negative thoughts and feelings. easier said than done but ascribing more weight and meaning to even the tiniest things makes me feel generally happier and more focused on the present. like going for a walk and being in nature even for a few mins, seeing a cat in someone’s window, making yourself a hot chocolate in your favorite mug when it’s cold outside

That freshly-showered feeling, chuckling to yourself when something weird happens, marveling at the colors of fresh produce at the grocery store, the rhythmic sounds of morning traffic ~~ livin your life like an ephemeral novel you’re writing and rewriting in your head

One of my secrets to cultivating a "whimsical energy" is playing games everywhere I go. If you pass by hopscotch on the sidewalk, hop every single one. If you see a falling leaf, try to run and catch it. How many people can I get to wave at me today? I bet a dozen. How many trees can I hear creak today? I bet 3. Also bird watching is a great game. As is "collecting" colors. Basically, like @MOSSYELFIE said, look at everything, find the wonder in it. I've also started keeping a notebook of sensations. Most of them are delightful–the sight of the water after cresting the hill on a long hot walk through the crowds in the sun; the feeling of the subway seat after carrying 30 pounds of laundry across town because you couldn't drop laundry off on the way to the optometrist because the laundromat was closed; the image of Laundromat George taking his day off, smoking cigs in his backyard. Some of them are awful–the feeling of sand stuck in your sock & constantly rubbing while you can't take it off, how the shadows in the kitchen make you sad because your spouse isn't there to notice them with you, the feeling of lovely weather that is totally in contradiction with your rotten mood. Noticing is a game.

For someone who is sentimental in every bit of tangible thing they acquire, drying flowers as soon as they start wilting was my only option for preserving my appreciation for the gift. It‘s beautiful to see something that thrived before still exist as beautifully even after their time of life.

This one is on the more expensive side but I bought an impression roll on of it initially and I just had to get the real formula soon after. It definitely gets the compliments going! If you want a deep, sexy, musky and sweet scent you would love this ~
