They’re literally so goated. I watched the first last night and it’s such a strong movie. I’m so nostalgic for pre-MCU superhero movies. Practical effects, more emotional stories and a willingness to be weird and adventurous. I haven’t seen anyone turn into a liquified pile of goo in a long time. I also haven’t seen a better allegory for how it feels to be different in society. I miss superhero movies that can stand on their own. Also I have decided I’m in my Wolverine era. Changed my phone lock screen and everything

Never was that big of a fan of comics growing up, and I'd say that I have a sprinkling of pretentiousness, so lots of media I consume is serious and artistic.
But somehow over the past couple months I've been going to comic book stores, buying the new issues and keeping track of when new issues come out. It's something about the escapism I think, and the strong characters that exist in series like the X-Men. A lot of the older Chris Clairmont X-Men is written really well, there are some parts that have aged terribly, but for the most part it's some great stuff. This has been the first thing I've really enjoyed getting into in a while.
Also Wolverine is hot, 5'3" king.
