no one thinks you're a dummy. someone is probably excited to tell you about it actually. then afterwards you will know, and sometimes there will be more things you don't. both are ok
When someone asks you something you think you should know the answer to/feel ashamed that you donโt know, say โhmm I donโt know!โ And then you learn something new! No shame needed, only learning and vibes. itโs embarrassing for them if they think you should be embarrassed!
