british tv show where two antiques experts have a limited budget to buy antiques at stores and flip them for a profit at auction. this show is to Antiques Roadshow like meth is to adderall. i like all the town names that sound fake and learning useless facts about 18th century ceramics + the auctions can be real nail biters! + it’s free on youtube

A British reality show about a gang of hippie archeologists that ran on BBC channel 4 for 20 seasons from 1994 to 2014. In each episode the team is given access to a historical site in Great Britain for 3 days in which they scan the area using “geo fizz” and work on digs which uncover remains and artifacts. Each episode ends with the team having a pint in the local pub. I watch this when I’m tired.

I’ve been a big fan of the Great British Baking Show for some time now and recently came across this pottery show from the same production company. Pottery is something that has really caught my eye in recent years and the few times I’ve been at the wheel I’ve found an almost transcendental quality to the process of throwing. While I’m not able to relive that personally, I’ve found it cathartic to live vicariously through the contestants on the show. Like Bake Off, there are potters from all walks of life who compete weekly for the title of Top Potter. I’m only two seasons in but it’s been a fun introduction to some of the different styles and techniques in pottery and the soundtrack is killer too.

pretty sure i saw someone on here rec a clock radio instead of a phone alarm... now i don't open my eyes and immediately look at my phone and instead enjoy the classical and jazz from the college radio station in the morning. yes this ancient beast has a terrible speaker but the form factor is unrivaled
