This new EP is pretty crazy. It has folk and progressive rock elements, can hear like fairport convention, the roches, animal collective, yes in there. Really would like to see them live when they get to the US.

I’ve been listening to this band on and off since finding them near the end of May, but everytime I come back I listen to at least an album in full. They sound like if a band with 90’s twee-pop lyrical prowess were dropped in the Brill Building and incorporated a surprising but welcomed dose of dub. RIYL: Beach Boys-style-orchestration worship, laying in the park and/or daydreaming about yr crush, music that lands in both easy- and active-listening camps comfortably.

there was sum crazy substance in the water circa y2k that made everyone the best breakbeat-oriented pop producers the world ever did saw. This one is kinda a mix of Air style downtempo with Talk Talky postrockisms plus Sweet Trip style vocals. Lovely stuff

I met Erin (@RIOTGRRRL) and Jake (@SLOWDAZZLE) last year after I started using PI.FYI—we organized a meetup before a Jonathan Richman show and immediately clicked over our shared taste in music and similar sensibilities. We started hanging out a lot and had some great times together. I’ve also gotten to know many of their friends, who are all really cool. Erin and Jake started dating a couple of months after the three of us became friends, but our group chat still pops off. Their friendship has meant a lot to me, especially since moving to NYC in 2023, and I really appreciate having them in my life.
