i think my inability to rate things on a 0-5 scale reeeaaallly holds me back from being more active on the app. for example, my experience/enjoyability of a movie could be at a 4, while still acknowledging that the actual, objective quality of the movie could is a 2 (or vice versa). a star rating doesn't have enough room to convey that, so i'm not always sure how to rate things in those scenarios. i also always notice myself feeling much more positively about a movie as i'm coming out of it than i end up feeling about it a couple weeks later, so i'm constantly having to change my ratings around. think i'm gonna try the method of simply reviewing with no rating and <3'ing movies if i liked them

Rotten tomatoes is so ghetto. Sometimes 7%s are like 80%s. I use >3 stars as I definitely wouldn't hate this movie it's worked for me so far

In the original tweet that inspired this app it was about letterboxd for all things. I love PI but wished there was an option to put stars on my posts. 5 stars for eating grapes.

I love doing collages, cuz all you really need are magazine cutouts and glue. There's a very low barrier to entry, skill-wise AND supply-wise, unlike painting. Digital collages are fun too, but I try to have less screentime by doing the paper ones. If I want to re-use pieces instead of gluing them down permanently, sometimes I'll just take a picture of the current arrangement to immortalize it, and then start over on a new composition. That way, I don't have to constantly buy new magazines to get new cutouts. This is one of my favorite ones I've done so far:

if you have a job that lets u read in ur downtime, they're a great portable option that doesn't require you to invest full focus like you would if you cracked a novel open on the clock! plus they are cheap & open you up to all sorts of niche content you wouldn't encounter otherwise :)
