My mom painted one of our kitchen chairs my favorite shade of blue. I was sitting in that chair admiring my toenails which were also painted a gorgeous shade of blue (maybe my first nail polish experience?). i think i was 3 or 4, my feet didn’t touch the floor yet which is the most memorable part of the memory. i still love blue nail polish!

my mom’s sister wanted to take her only niece (ie me) out for lunch and I had heard the word ‘garden’ so i thougght we were going to this giant garden conservatory type place. i got all dressed up in my best floral skirt and floral shirt and shoes with a little flower on the toe and a pink headband with more little tulle flowers on it. Only to come down the stairs to find out we were going to the OLIVE GARDEN

i was a normal child. i sent a pic of it to my mom and she said “oh… yeah, i remember talking to you about that one...” lol. sadly she does not remember anything about the piece itself, and neither do i.

my parents were pretty broke when i was a toddler so when we got bored my mum would pull out all the light, plastic kitchenware for me and my twin to play with. we have some pretty cute pictures of me n them as babies wearing a bowl as a hat. i did also commit violence with a colander and even as a 3 year old i felt so so bad about it and that's my first memory

go to your local library‘s website or download the app. then search for a book you really want to read. then put it on hold. it feels like online shopping but it’s free. in a few days or weeks you'll get a cute text message or email that your book is ready to pick up and you’ll get to say hello to your local librarians and procure a new (to you) book which also feels like free shopping. the most functional part of our government ily public libraries

i usually find myself in reading ruts when i’m taking classes and being assigned books or when i’m trying to keep up with new releases and the “smart” books that are usually dense and long. i can usually get myself out of this rut by picking out a book that looks fun to me, like a book set on a beach or something I loved in middle school. I’m reading From The Mixed Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler right now and it’s just FUN!!! I also am very much not someone who feels like they have to finish a book. Life is too short. I think that helps!
