my first memory is perching on the couch arm in my childhood house and watching the quest for camelot movie when i was about 4 years old. idk why this is so specifically ingrained in my head, but i guess it stuck, because now i have a minor in medieval & renaissance studies!

someone put the vhs in for me at age five and it got stuck in my memory for life. scout finch was a character i heavily related to, and I got so lost in the story that I easily could play the movie in my head when I was younger. Also the plot, the music, the vibe of childhood, the twists— amazing. couldn’t ask for a better Peck film.

Idk why I memory holed this but I yelled this to my mom while watching the TV and I was really impressed at my ability to make up a rhyme??? And I guess I held onto it in childhood because I remember realizing it was a reliably dated very early memory. im pretty sure 3 year olds know their age so I’m pretty sure it’s a real memory but never confirmed there is an episode where Clifford turns 3 (he is canonically 2 years old tho) Very odd memory…everything about it is ”golden” when I think of it in my mind. must be pretty cool to be that New To Earth

This is the only thing that keeps me sane at work. It's so slow right now. If anyone is wondering why I've posted like 9 times today.

I love doing collages, cuz all you really need are magazine cutouts and glue. There's a very low barrier to entry, skill-wise AND supply-wise, unlike painting. Digital collages are fun too, but I try to have less screentime by doing the paper ones. If I want to re-use pieces instead of gluing them down permanently, sometimes I'll just take a picture of the current arrangement to immortalize it, and then start over on a new composition. That way, I don't have to constantly buy new magazines to get new cutouts. This is one of my favorite ones I've done so far:

if you have a job that lets u read in ur downtime, they're a great portable option that doesn't require you to invest full focus like you would if you cracked a novel open on the clock! plus they are cheap & open you up to all sorts of niche content you wouldn't encounter otherwise :)
