frankly I’m surprised it took me so long to admit this. I bought a one-way train ticket to Reno Nevada. It cost me $240 (flex fare, not the basic fare!) and it has become so Much More Than a line on my bank statement. It has become the only thing I think about. If you are in need of something to think of a lot, spend $240 on a cross country Amtrak fare, and ponder it.

Ok it’s way more expensive than it should be (even with a railcard) but it’s cool that we can just get on a train and go pretty much anywhere in the country. No focussing on the road, no finding somewhere to park. Trainpal is good for cheaper tickets. Might get the metro to the coast this weekend…

seriously just say screw it and take the amtrak. you get gorgeous sights and lte connection ✨ I did end up traveling for 4 days though bc i took 2 trains so i wouldn’t do that, just one is enough fr
there also was a famous burrito lady who sold burritos at the train stop it was so nice to eat something other than cup noodles 😫

train rides are always a source of peace and clarity for me- the 2.5 hr trip from my hometown to the city is the perfect duration for me to spend with myself and my thoughts…thank you amtrak 🙏
