After watching Fallen Angels (another film made by the same director) my film teacher showed me the first 20 minutes of Chungking Express. When I start a movie I have to finish it, especially if it is on one of my streaming services. I love this film from the experimental editing, music selection, the characters, and the cool vibe that Wong Kar-wai brings into his films. I cannot stress how awesome the music and visuals are in this film. Hearing atmospheric trumpets while the rain is pouring with this vibrant blue hue is just so awesome.

in a Wong Kar Wai rabbit hole and loving how scrappy his early films are! they’re almost all handheld, most scenes are with just 1 or 2 actors, beautiful colors, zippy and strangely uplifting, and really captured Hong Kong in the 90s in a way that almost feels like a documentary. It’s also inspiring to see early works of prolific directors to see how good (and sometimes better) they could be in their younger years when they were working on shoestring budgets.

If you’re someone who’s not been lifted by the surroundings you were born into, someone will come along the way, they will lift you and you will feel it the people around will feel too, so when they do HOLD on to them because they’ll never be back. Either a partner or a friend or colleague. you just don’t get so many chances with this kind of precious people i think you’d be super lucky of you got more than three chances. So hold on to your loved ones💌

Not something necessarily productive or makes you proud. it just brings you joy (probably would be stupid) i think in stupidity lays joy!

i don’t know if you’ve seen the video where David Lynch asks Harry Dean “how would you describe your self?” He’s answer was simply “as nothin, there’s no self”. when ever i feel down i remember it it’s like a pat on the back. comforting☀️
