I read this book when I was 19, and my life was completely changed; a whole new world opened up for me, especially those last pages blew me away. I'm curious to hear your opinion.

stefaniegordin I haven’t finished so don’t tell me much more! I find I like the stream of consciousness/never ending story telling. Flat storytelling without embellishments. I find it sad like I find a sadness of all humans experience, good and bad. In fact, I and the speaker, have a kind of detached fascination with the horrible and wonderful things that happen to the characters. Thanks for asking!

By Gabriel García Márquez. A magical realist novel that tells the history of a family in a small secluded Columbian town. It starts with the founding of the settlement and follows the growing town and expanding family over several generations— through comedic, tragic and often cyclical circumstances. It’s absurd and confusing and a pretty fun read so far (half way through).
