Saw Tomato Flower last night who are a cool math-y experimental group. Have recently gotten into Horse Lords. Seeing @ next week, half of which are from Bmore.
Got the classics like Dan Deacon, Future Islands, Animal Collective.

Apols in advance for the old-school response here but the jazz tradition from Baltimore is like off-the-charts insane: Duke Ellington, Dizzy Gillespie, Count Basie, Charles Mingus, Herbie Hancock, Freddie Hubbard, Sun Ra, Wayne Shorter, Sonny Rollins, Dexter Gordon, Chet Baker, and McCoy Tyner are all from the Charm City. There's also a band from a million years ago called Face Dancer that I loved (at least, this one song, I loved). "Red Shoes" to me is like peak Baltimore power-pop. Philip Glass is from B'more I think?

I met Erin (@RIOTGRRRL) and Jake (@SLOWDAZZLE) last year after I started using PI.FYI—we organized a meetup before a Jonathan Richman show and immediately clicked over our shared taste in music and similar sensibilities. We started hanging out a lot and had some great times together. I’ve also gotten to know many of their friends, who are all really cool. Erin and Jake started dating a couple of months after the three of us became friends, but our group chat still pops off. Their friendship has meant a lot to me, especially since moving to NYC in 2023, and I really appreciate having them in my life.
