I probably never made it to level 5 in this game, but whenever I am reminded of it I always try it out and end up rage quitting in a huff

a fucked up little NES game where you try (and usually fail) to roll a marble to the end of an obstacle course. clearly the prototype for monkey ball, marble blast, etc. one of many retro games my cousin introduced to me through wii hacking. the thing i remember most vividly about it is about how on the (famously brutal) penultimate level, ”silly race,” the screen flashes with the message “EVERYTHING YOU KNOW IS WRONG.” to this day i don’t know what that’s about. it made 6-year-old me feel like i was in they live

Lee Moon-Sae has some great anthems in the korean ballad genre (basically just really cheesy synthpop with instrumentals that sound like karaoke). He’s got these amazingly passionate vocals on all of his tracks and despite the language barrier, there’s always moments where I feel his energy and understand him. This record is my favorite. As for folk music, which has got to be my favorite genre, I’ve been a fan of what Minhwi Lee has been putting out recently, especially their record Hometown to Come. Their voice is beautiful — great music for lounging around or a nice rainy day. Whenever! One more: some great K-pop from Yukika. Contagious energy and some cathartic dance jams. Hope you find something cool in these recs!
